SOUNDTEL® GRP
Sound-Powered telephones made of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP).
Sound-powered are a particular type of telephone that does not require any power source to operate. They do not have electronic circuits, but are equipped with telephone capsules that can generate an audio signal simply by using the energy of the sound pressure generated by the person speaking.
Of course, these telephones cannot be used on any of the traditional telephone networks, but they can be used to build private networks in special environments, such as ships and tunnels and metropolitan tunnels.
They are equipped with a rotary manual call generator which generates a sound which is used to induce the operator to the other end of the line to answer the call. The advantages of this technology also include the possibility of establishing connections with a common copper telephone cable over considerable distances, even greater than 20 km.
